Becoming Habitat 02

This is the second drawing for becoming habitat. I have tried the version where the facades are not exploded, but it than becomes more difficult to read, also I think it's good if I can show some secondery infomartion (section), the primary being the extension of the existing, the new offered spaces (grey tone). The editing is not finished but just need some feedbacks? I can blog the one with facades attached if needed. Thanks.

Exterior View 01

First test for an exterior view using just lines and the existing as pictures. I quite like how it looks but still not convice on the edge of new/extisting. Will try to apply a tone or texture to that specific adjacency. What do you think?

Alleluja, Alleluja, Alleluja!

Finally i'm done with the overall proposal. As usual it took me longer then expected but at least it's there. I'm now moving one to the strategic overview and section drawing. And tmr will built models.

Layering, Layering and Layering...

Here is a update of the proposal, i'm currently stackbounding the layers. Taking quite a long but hopefully will be done for tmr's tutorial. Once it will be done I will built some models. Since I would like the 1/200 to be a nice ending model (not a study one), i think i will do portion of the site at a 1/100 scale, as studies to improve after the 1/200. So the idea for friday would be to have several models and the strategic drawing and section far advanced. What do you think?

Internal Topographic Model

Here is a model with which I'm showing how the existing topographical changes are used and emphasized in the proposal. There are 4 blue layers representing each level of entrances in the department store, each entrance being attached to a street and its topography. (I know that the real highs are not as marked as on the model but the model is almost more diagramatic).

Strategic Drawing

These little plans and sections will go on the strategic drawing. The idea is to show in a simplistic way the differents programmes, acces points, light cones.

Ambiguous Surfaces / Test 01

Some sketches of surface behaviours for smith court's entrance. Using two surfaces qualities (one is extension of existing (adaptive), the other belongs to department store). They both act as volumes/mass while one is only a huge void conducting light to the basement and existing spaces. They also overlap as they are continuous further behind one another, giving some signs of path and mouvement to users.
These are quite quick to do so i'll do them for all entrances on site (5) and then the inside of the court. So I can have a overview of every part of the site, so I can do Drawing n°1 and continue on a more specific location (other drawings).
Feedback more then welcome! Thanks.

Inbetween Surfaces

Here is a quick sketch for a 1/20 section. The idea is to show spatial relations between surfaces, when they start to get thick or appear as thick. Also I would like to zoom in (two circles on the right) some areas to show material qualities at a 1/5 or 1/2 scale (grain, joint, thickness). I'll try to have a computer drawing on tuesday.

Seibu / Ham Yard Models

Here are some ideas of how I would like to construct both seibu and ham yard models. I believe that both sites are acting in almost the same way (different levels of complexity), the difference being that seibu has buildings while soho site is "empty". But my proposal will use seibu as a reference to create the same kind of conditions (not same design obviously) in ham yard. So by doing the same scale model and using the same codes of representations i'll be able to clearly compare the two.
Please all feedbacks needed.

This talking was quite hot debate between inter 1 and inter 11.
It was constructive critics for us to develope further progress.
Also good oppurtunity to understand whar we are doing and to find where we are.

Camouflage: A Catalogue of Effects

What will we do without Jin Uk?
Chen and Kit's perforated area.
Jonathan with Fumi's colourful schedules.
The back members room before the dazzling bega

Zamri cutting the pieces of the table.

Ru photographing the models.

new wallpaper underlay

Antoine, Chen and I created this last night to take some of the pressure off the wallpaper team.. it just uses fewer patterns and smoother transitions to make the room a bit more cohesive - it also creates shapes for 'wall reliefs', the perforate model and the table

obviously it needs a lot more graphic work especially in the middle with chen and kits patterns... but it can be used as an underlay for the wallpaper team.

Tokyo Researches

Summary of drawings I want to produce.

Tokyo Researches

These drawings are the 3 important connection points I've decide to explore and represent as exploded axo. (These drawings are "in construction", so any feedbacks more than welcome!).

Street Diagram

Here is an idea of how to do a diagram of the streets of soho in relation to my research of ambiguity of surfaces.
Do you think it could work this way? I think that I could do that to all 5 streets and it will help me see some situation of overlaping/ambiguity/conflict.
All comments more then welcome!
Thanks.
